Chelsea Clinton rushed to her mother’s defense when a Fox News host suggested Hillary Clinton would do literally anything to be President of the United States.
Speaking Friday on the Fox News show The Five, substitute host Lisa Boothe called Hillary Clinton “the most soulless woman on the planet.”
“(She) would literally sell her daughter to be president, literally sell her only child to be president,” she said.
Saturday morning, Chelsea Clinton went on Twitter to disagree.
No, she wouldn’t. I’ve never doubted & always known I was the most important part of her life. Now as a mom I’m even more grateful to my mom https://t.co/IZE4ZSUVOs

Twitter was not long in pouncing.
What’s it say that about Hillary Clinton that Chelsea feels the need to publicly contradict the claim HRC would sell Chelsea to be POTUS? https://t.co/gF72P4WizM

The fact that she felt the need to address this makes it 1000x worse. I’m cringing FOR her. https://t.co/Zdvkhilt7w

Clearly Hillary was unable to sell Chelsea in 2016 and that’s why she lost AND WHY DOESN’T SHE ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS

Boothe had made her comment as she critiqued those trying to take a moral high ground in the fuss over Donald Trump Jr. meeting with a Russian attorney.
“We’ve also seen so much self-righteous indignation to people that have no business being self-righteous. I absolutely love the fact that Robby Mook is talking about this,” she said, speaking about Hillary Clinton’s former campaign manager.
Boothe said Hillary Clinton’s acolytes have no business being the “voices of authority on morality.”
“He literally worked for the most soulless person on this planet who would literally sell her daughter to be president, literally sell her only child to be president, ” she said. “I mean, that’s how much she wants it.”
